All of us have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23) Not one of us is perfect in any way, shape or form.

If you are to walk with God in true obedience to Him, then you must clean up your act. One way He emphasizes this is through the words you speak. Your attitude must also change.

This prophet is no different. I am a sinner like anyone else. I grew up in a home where a brother was a master of foul words. Of course, I learned them. But God has been admonishing me to clean up my act as well. Despite my desire to be holy in all ways, sometimes words slip out that are regretful.

We must bless others and not curse them. This is God’s command. (Romans 12:14; Matthew 5:43-44)

There is power in the words we speak. If you speak blessings and positive things, others will be blessed with life, and things we desire can be called forth as if they were not. If you speak curses and negative things, then death will come because of it. You will hinder God’s work in your life.

How many times have you cursed your brother for some evil he has done against you? If so, then you have brought death to him.

Have you ever blessed a brother or sister? Especially when they have done evil against you? I have. And I have seen what happens. Immediate conviction falls onto that person’s head. The person is blessed, giving him or her a chance for life and not death.

Yes, we must learn to speak positive words and positive things into our lives as well as into the lives of others. If you speak only negative words, then only negative things will happen in your life and in the lives of others.

Pray against it, my friends. Seek to do that which is right, holy, and pleasing to God.

You will not regret it.
