GOD’S PROMISES ON FINANCES
“You shall not steal.” Exodus 20:15
“For where there is jealousy and selfishness, there is disorder and every evil practice.”
(James 3:16 NET Bible)
It is no secret that we live in an age of materialism and greed these days. Seems people want more and more of this or that. It is a never ending cycle of “I want”…”I need”…”I can’t live without…”.
The trouble is these days is that many want stuff for free, so they won’t have to work for it. One thing missing in today’s society is a good work ethic. Many people are just lazy and self-serving. Heck, even the Apostle Paul was a tentmaker by trade. He made tents to earn his own money for the ministry God had given him, not expecting others to support him. (Acts 18:3)
One of my children manages a store, and I am told how some employees have no clue of how to do their job properly so he has to teach them things my children learned at a young age. As a single parent, I had no choice but to teach my children many things and to have them do things most parents would not teach their children while they are so young. But I had to work full time, 12 hour days, rotating shifts, and often earned other money on the side to supplement. Needless to say, my children became very independent. I did such a good job teaching them these things that I often feel like they never need me for anything anymore. But that is fine because that is how children honor their parents. My children still ask my advice or ideas on things, but they are very intelligent and competent at what they do, with very strong work ethics. They are also honest and know that in order to get what they want, they have to work for a living. They expect nothing from anyone except what they expect as payment for a job well done. If God blesses them with freebies along the way, then that is always a plus. I can’t tell you how much God has favored us. How many times blessings came our way. I lost count of how many free pizzas we somehow ended up with and sometimes free desserts in restaurants. Many other blessings God has bestowed on us, too. God knows our hearts, even when they are hurting. I have seen my children get blessed when they were going through some painful situations. God is so wonderful. That is why I love Him so much.
Now God’s Word is clear. “…This we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” 2 Thessalonians 3:10 (KJV) Unfortunately, too many people expect others to support them instead of earning a good, honest living on their own. Some even beg, borrow, badger, or steal from others, just to get stuff, but most commonly, money. Covetousness is another aspect of this ‘greed’ epidemic raging through our world these days. It has been said that the spirit of greed is one of the most powerful of Satan’s heirarchy during these end times. We can certainly see that. And we can see how others would rather steal what another person has earned through hard work or been gifted or blessed with than earn their own way. Jealousy goes right along with all of this. Always wanting what another has instead of seeking God on their own, walking in righteousness and holiness as God commands, instead of waiting on God to bless them.
But regarding finances, many worry over them constantly, losing sleep over unpaid bills or debts. This is what leads others to sin. But God’s Word assures us that God wants us to be free from financial worries. These days, it is difficult to even tithe or give offerings because people are in so much debt. Worry robs people of peace and joy. But God assures us that Christians who are faithful in tithing and offerings can claim His promises. Granted, we are no longer commanded to give our tithe. The Old Testament directive for the Israelites was nailed to the cross when Jesus died and the veil was rent in two in the temple, marking the end of the Old Testament. But the fact is is that now we get to tithe and give offerings. This is New Testament.
God’s Word promises, basically, regarding finances, that IF you do this, then THIS will happen. Badgering people for money won’t assure us of the financial blessing that God Himself promises His people. Stealing from others won’t help either. When anyone steals anything from someone else, especially from a true believer, then that person will bring a curse upon himself. So I would not advise robbing anyone or taking vengeance on a person by stealing from that person. The Bible is clear in that it is up to God to avenge His people, not we ourselves. (Romans 12:19; Hebrews 10:30-31) Thieves will think they are growing prosperous but, in the end, their prosperity will turn to dust. (Zechariah 5:3,4)
Basically, stealing and swearing falsely are representative of all the sins that break the Law of God. Stealing violates man’s duty toward man, and swearing falsely violates man’s duty toward God.
I do understand the hidden drive of those with addictions and the need to steal to get money for their habit, but the Bible is clear that these sorts of sins will keep people out of Heaven in the end, unless they repent of their sins and submit to God’s leadership in their lives. God can heal any addiction, making it unnecessary for someone to steal from another.
Tithes and Offerings
If a person is faithful in his tithes and offerings, then he or she can claim the following promises God has made to us:
“Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.” (Deuteronomy 29:9 KJV)
Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
(Psalm 37:3 KJV)
“I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor His seed begging bread.”
(Psalm 37:25 KJV)
“The Lord will give grace and glory; no good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly.”
(Psalm 84:11 KJV)
“ A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.”
(Proverbs 13:22 KJV)
“Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days.”
(Ecclesiastes 11:1 KJV)
“I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by name, am the God of Israel.”
(Isaiah 45:3 KJV)
“Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
(Luke 6:38 KJV)
If then God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you?
(Luke 12:28 KJV)
“But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
(Luke 12:32 KJV)
“Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”
(John 16:24 KJV)
“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 4:19 KJV)
“Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.”
(3 John 2)
What You Say Is What You Get
Freedom from financial worries is assured by God’s Word. Below are some words and Scriptures you can recite aloud daily to bring into your life prosperity, provision, and abundance IF you are obedient to God’s Word in tithing, generosity, and offerings. In all ways keep your heart pure and holy before the Lord, so He will bring blessings into your life. Trusting God is at the heart of every believer’s walk with Him, together with humility. Remember, if your prayers are not being answered or hindered, many times it may be because of some unconfessed sin and from a lack of repentance from that sin. Other times, God may just be saying ‘no’, or ‘maybe’, or ‘wait’. Also know that God does not always do things as we think He should or as we want Him to. So nevertheless, remain faithful to Him, and trust Him to fulfil His promises to you. He is not a liar and faithful in all ways. So as the saying goes, “God said it. I believe it. That settles it.”
Always remember that our words have power, so what you speak out loud can call things into existence, including attacks from Satan if you are not careful. Some things you should never say include the following:
“Money doesn’t grow on trees.”
“I can’t afford it.”
“I am on a fixed income.”
Below are the words you can recite every day, to claim your blessings. Some are just prayers I use for myself, which you may want to pray as well. I will also include a link so you can download them for your personal use. May God prosper and bless you as you seek His best for you.
For Money Owed To You
Make a list of those people, businesses, or organizations who owe you money. Place the list in front of you, lay your hands upon it, and declare:
“Jesus said that whatever is loosed in Heaven is loosed in Heaven. Therefore, in Jesus’ name, I loose the finances that are owed to me. I call this money in so that these accounts are paid, in Jesus’ name.”
Prayer For Provision and Restoration
“Lord, I ask for Your provision of more than enough and restoration of all money owed to me, so that I will owe no man or woman anything and that I will be forever out of debt. I ask all these things, in Jesus’ name, in accordance with Your will. Thank You, Lord.”
For Timely Payment Of Monthly Bills
“God supplies all my needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. God is the Source of my supply, and I have more than enough to pay my bills on time. BE PAID IN FULL, IN JESUS’ NAME!”
For Debts
“[Bills, debts, etc.], listen to me. I’m talking to you. Jesus said that you would obey me. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I command you – I say to you: BE PAID IN FULL…DEMATERIALIZE…DEPART…BE GONE! In Jesus name, you WILL obey me!”
To Buy Property Or A Vehicle
“In Jesus’ name, in His authority, by the blood of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, I call those things that be not as though they were. I now call the houses, property, vehicles that fit my needs and desires and will be a blessing to me – I CALL YOU TO ME NOW, IN JESUS’ NAME! I declare that God’s highest and best is done in this matter, and the angels are now working on my behalf.”
To Remove Hindrances
“God, Your Word says that whatever I bind on Earth is bound in Heaven, and whatever I loose on Earth is loosed in Heaven. Therefore, on the authority of Your Word, I bind and take authority over every force that has set itself against my financial prosperity! I hereby declare all curses against me null, void, and harmless, in Jesus’ name!
“I am redeemed from the curse of poverty and lack! I am free from oppression! I now loose the abundance of God, and all that rightfully belongs to me now comes under grace in a perfect way. In Jesus’ name.”
Program Your Spirit For Success
“I am filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. His will is my prosperity. I declare it in Jesus’ name!”

“God delights in my prosperity. He gives me power to get wealth, that He may establish His covenant upon the Earth.”

In addition, to these verses, recite aloud, The Prophetic Axe:
“O Lord, dispatch your ministering angels to search the land of the living and of the dead, and to recover all of my stolen blessings, in the name of Jesus!”
So there you have it. Be faithful in all you do, including in your tithes, offerings, and all other areas we are commanded to be obedient in, then there should be no reason for God not to bless you and fulfill His promises to prosper you. It is always a matter of your heart, obedience to God, and true humility in your walk with Him, including how you love other people and forgive them of wrongs done against you.

“Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 6:9-11 KJV
