Will you walk with God…or with men?

Upon arriving in Wellington, Kansas, this writer enjoyed some verbal sparring with Kansans about their pronunciation of certain words.

One word, in particular, pertained to the Arkansas River. In Kansas, the word Arkansas is pronounced: Ahr-KAN-zuhs. In most other parts of the nation, it is pronounced: Ahr-KAN-saw.

Interestingly enough, when researching Kansas facts and trivia, it was discovered that this is exactly how it is in Kansas, when referring to the Arkansas River. According to www.50states.com, “this may be the only river in the U. S. whose pronunciation changes as it crosses state lines.” Even states bordering Kansas, Colorado and Oklahoma, refer to the river as the Arkansaw.

Although this is a recorded fact – truth – people still won’t believe it. People refuse to believe anything contrary to their own beliefs, and for no other reason than it’s not what their parents taught them.

When someone comes along and shares actual truth, people get mad. Pride and arrogance flare during discussions because no one wants to admit they were taught an untruth in a matter. Sadly, that’s how it is with Scripture. And it’s why the enemy keeps flourishing around us.

Satan gloats when people refuse to believe God’s Truth. Things are just the way he would have them to be. He doesn’t want anyone to know Truth because he wants everyone to go to hell, too. He hates all men, God, and His Truth. Satan will do anything to confuse, blind, and deceive others into turning from God.

Remember, Satan is the father of lies. He is a master in manipulating, controlling, deceiving, and convincing people that they should believe other than the Truth. When believers in Christ refuse to accept the truth of the Bible and turn away from their wrongful practices or beliefs, then it demonstrates their lack of commitment to God.

God wants us to walk with Him, to the best of our ability, in the Spirit of Truth. When we go against His Word because we like things just the way they are, then we are walking in sin and hard-heartedness.

Who cares if Halloween is the Devil’s Day? It’s fun!

Who cares if Christmas is NOT of God? I love it all!

Believers, leave yourself out of the equation.

To serve God wholeheartedly, lay aside man’s doctrines…once and for all…and follow Him.

“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 14:12 KJV)
