Uprisings in Egypt and now Libya are setting the stage for things to come. Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says similar chaos will break out in Europe and North America. Biblically, all of this will lead to what most of us already know is coming: the Battle of Armageddon (Ezekiel 38) and the second coming of Jesus Christ. If you don’t know, Armageddon lies in the heart of Israel.

Isaiah 19 mentions Egypt’s role in these last days, describing an end-time scenario involving much related to Israel.

“In that day Israel will be the third, along with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the earth. The Lord Almighty will bless them, saying, ‘Blessed be Egypt, My people, Assyria, My handiwork, and Israel, My inheritance.”

The Wichita Eagle, Wichita, Kansas stated today that “Gadhafi’s crackdown [in Libya] has been the harshest by any Arab leader in the wave of protests that has swept the Middle East the past month, toppling the presidents of Libya’s neighbors – Egypt and Tunisia.” (Paul Schemm and Sarah El Deeb) Based on Bible prophecy, it is believed that Libya will fall in a bloody way.

Daniel 11:42-43 says Egypt was not to escape what happened recently, that Libya and Ethiopia would be right at his steps. Since war and strife during the last days is prophesied in Scripture (Luke 21:10), this should come as no surprise. Nations will never agree on lasting peace settlements, which will lead to war and vast bloodshed.

“The purpose of prophecy is to authenticate God’s word and…prepare those who wait in faith. God takes no delight in these things [that are happening]. It is His hope that all will change their ways (repent) and return to Him, through His Son, so that all might escape those things that are about to come upon the Earth.

“…Noah was a preacher of righteousness and for 120 years was God’s witness, a trumpet of warning, while he built the vessel of refuge and escape…The people were feeling content without acknowledging God…‘Morally corrupt and filled with violence’, [they] ignored and disobeyed God’s law and…‘did that which was right in their own eyes’.  After 120 years of patiently waiting and warning, we are told God Himself closed the door to the Ark . . .
“Only eight people were saved.” (www.alphanewsdaily.com)

“He shall stretch forth His hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.

“But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.” (Daniel 11:42-43 KJV)
