It is always heartwarming to see a father playing with his children. Just seeing a man taking time for them is a wonderful thing. So many children grow up in single parent homes today, never knowing the love of a father in their day-to-day lives.

One day a Wellington, Kansas man was observed putting up a tire swing for his children in the backyard. Another day he built a fenced-in play area for them. Another day, he had some men bring in a small bulldozer to level out the backyard.

On Christmas Eve, this same man and others were observed putting together a large play gym for his children on the leveled area.

Is there an end to this man’s love and concern for his children? One can only imagine what other things he has done to show love for his children.

Our Father in Heaven is the greatest example of a Father’s love. For all children He has created.

He loves us so much that He was willing to sacrifice His own son, Jesus Christ, so that the world might, through Him, be saved. He knows what awaits those who reject Him and knew that sacrificing His only beloved Son was the only way for us to avoid eternal damnation.

God unselfishly demonstrated His love for us through His Son’s death on the cross. His compassion for us is His greatest pleasure. He considers us of great worth and never tires of loving us.

His compassion is the same love that He would have us have toward our own children and toward others. Not just believers, but non-believers as well.

Jesus, in loving obedience to His Father, demonstrated His love toward us as well, by humbling Himself. Laying aside His priestly garments in Heaven, He became a man on Earth in order to restore our relationship with God that the enemy tried to destroy in the Garden of Eden. He came as a babe, grew up as we do, suffered what we do, learned what we do, then willingly laid down His life for us on the cross, even though He was guilty of no wrong.

Can a Father have any greater love for His children than this?

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

“For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved.” (John 3:16-17 KJV)
