It’s a common enough sight. You see it in crowds, at political meetings, on television, or at other events. Whether you live in Kansas or elsewhere, the symbol is the same. Teenagers in Wellington, Kansas are just as likely to use it, especially at rock concerts. More commonly, it is a symbol used by the deaf. Or as a sign of devil worship.

We are talking about the fingerspelling of one particular symbol.

According to Keller Johnson-Thompson, “The basic system [of fingerspelling] was created by Spanish monks to communicate without breaking their vow of silence. The alphabet was modified in the 1700s in France and then brought to America by Laurent Clerc, a teacher of the deaf, where it is known as the American Manual Alphabet.

“Anne Sullivan taught Helen Keller this…method in which words are spelled into the palm of one’s hand. This was Helen’s primary means of communication.”

According to www.jesus-is-savior.com, “The “El Diablo” hand sign is often confused with the deaf hand signal of the phrase, ‘I love you’. Attributed to Helen Keller, who was herself an occultist and Theosophist, many wonder if she designed this particular sign as an imitation of the classic sign of Satan, a horned hand. And was she basically using it to declare, ‘I love you, Satan?

“If you think Miss Keller’s hand sign is just a coincidence, then you are truly gullible. If you were deaf, and wanted to develop a hand sign to tell someone that you love them, what would it be? A hand over the heart would be reasonable. There is no way that any reasonable person would develop the hand sign that Keller invented, paralleling an existing hand salute to Satan.”

By remaining aware of the true meaning of this sign, you will keep yourself from sinning against God, as many people unknowingly do. Some may innocently believe they are saying, ‘I love you’. But what they don’t realize is that they are being deceived by the enemy into thinking it refers to anyone.
