KNSS Radio Wichita reported today, February 17th, that “The U.S. Department of Justice has rejected the passing scores the city of Dayton [Ohio] recommended after grading nearly 1,100 police recruit exams because they do not meet terms of a lawsuit settlement that require the city to hire more black police and firefighters…

“Fewer than 500 people passed the exam on the city’s recommended score…[making things more difficult for a] city that is losing dozens of firefighters and police officers [to retirement].” (www.daytondailynews.com)

According to http://www.articlesbase.com/recruitment, “…A whopping 75% of applicants who join police recruitment never even make it beyond the application form stage, let alone the police test.”

Considering that America is being ‘dumbed down’, this isn’t surprising. Less is being spent on education and more on sports. Technology is so rampant and available today that children don’t seem to think for themselves anymore. Many agreed with this on Facebook, as they considered the story of the Pennsylvania teacher, Natalie Munroe, who blasted her students online, sharing that her students were “rude, disengaged, lazy whiners.” Well, considering what we already know, because some of us actually do know how to use our brains, this is not surprising either.

Fortunately, we have a God watching out for us. Considering how things are going, we can only know that things will get worse in our society as time goes on. Americans are being ‘dumbed down’, not just through lower education and testing standards, but also through tainted water and food.

God doesn’t change His laws just so all sinners can get into Heaven. The Feds may be able to convince local governments to change laws and requirements, making things easier for some, but society will suffer because of it. Those not held to the high standards we have come to expect of our police officers can only mean lazier workers, perhaps more tolerant or controlled, in the future.

If God changed His laws, lowering His standards, then things would be easier for everyone. There would be no difference between the sheep and the goats because everyone would be allowed into Heaven. Or into Hell, depending on God’s mind-set that day.

Personally, this writer would prefer to aim high, keeping her sights on Heaven. Because if God lowered His standards, there would be no race to run, no crown to win.

Where’d be the fun in that?

“Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is My law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

“For the moth shall eat them up like a garment, and the worm shall eat them like wool: but my righteousness shall be for ever, and My salvation from generation to generation.” (Isaiah 51:7-8 KJV)
